Lebanon: Iran will respond on Wednesday, a Lebanese security source says. The military investigation judge, Gada Bou Alwan, has scheduled Thursday for the interrogation of the two arrested defendants, the truck driver and his girlfriend, in the explosives case at the Dahr al-Baider checkpoint. Lebanon has officially accepted Qatar's integrated proposal for the electricity sector, which covers electricity generation, gas production through Syria, pipeline maintenance and a land grant for factories, and it is scheduled to reach the Council of Ministers at its earliest session. Diplomatic sources say regional efforts to de-escalate are ongoing and that the Gulf states want peace. Lebanon and Syria also disagree on how to handle the case on Syrians entering, leaving and living in Lebanon.
