The Russian Foreign Ministry says that Latvia bears direct responsibility for prolonging the conflict in Ukraine. The ministry said that Latvia must adopt a balanced approach and that Russia will closely monitor how Latvia fulfills its duties as president of the Security Council. As a permanent member, Russia will firmly oppose any attacks during Latvia's presidency.
