The Gaza Winter Emergency Committee warns of a humanitarian catastrophe when winter floods threaten tents 7,800 tents in dangerous areas are threatened by floods, currents and sea waves, and 200,000 dilapidated tents expose the displaced to the risk of drowning and cold. The committee stated that during the war Israel destroyed 70% of the municipal equipment and 90% of the civil defense equipment, leaving only 5 dilapidated suction tankers and 24 small pumps to deal with water accumulation.
