A review of the US military's attack options against Iran after the midterm elections. A retired two-star general of the US Marine Corps has claimed that the Pentagon has prepared a range of military options, including short-term and intensive operations against Iran, to present to Donald Trump. Arnold Fonaro, in an interview with an American news network, while emphasizing the priority of diplomacy, claimed that Iran, through its actions in the Strait of Hormuz and support for proxy forces, made the road to an agreement difficult and is rebuilding its nuclear program. He also, referring to the CENTCOM commanders reporting on military options, said that the final decision on continuing negotiations or returning to military action rests with Trump. Fonaro, in some of his remarks, identified the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps as one of America's potential strategic targets for breaking the current stalemate.
