Iran: Energy Minister says installed electricity capacity has increased from 7,000 MW in 1979 to more than 103,000 MW Abbas Aliabadi said these things at the 30th Energy Conference in Belarus. According to him, the population has grown 2.5 times since 1979 while the electricity industry has grown 14 times. He called for regional and international cooperation on consumption management, efficiency, grid modernization and renewable energy.
