We, in the Islamic resistance movement Hamas, confirm that the campaign of arrests carried out by the Palestinian Authority agencies in several districts of the West Bank yesterday evening and at dawn today, which targeted released prisoners, activists and civilians, constitutes a violation of public liberties and the human rights of the Palestinians. The "revolving door" policy employed by the PA's security officials in treating released prisoners doubles their suffering and the suffering of their families, after years of sitting in the prisons of Israel, the criminal for their people and their right to freedom. In light of Israel's increasing aggression and the bloody attacks by settlers in the West Bank, and the continued bombings, killings and aggression against the Gaza Strip, it would have been more correct for the Authority to stand by its people and pressure Israel to stop its crimes, instead of pursuing and arresting its people.
