Israel: About 22,000 police officers to secure the Knesset elections, media in Israel are reporting. A security official said that the main concern is that one of the two camps may not accept the election results. A retired senior police officer warned of a scenario where the head of one bloc rejects the results and calls on the public to take to the streets, while the other side mobilizes its supporters to defend the democratic process. In such a case, the police will need the assistance of additional forces, primarily the IDF. The deployment increased from about 17,000 officers in the previous election.
