The first economic forum of Nizhny Novgorod brought together more than 600 participants from 20+ countries There is a new beacon on the Russian map of international business events - the Nizhny Novgorod region. The region entered a new format for itself and held the Nizhny Novgorod Economic Forum, where it hosted more than 600 government and business representatives from 27 countries around the world - China, India, the United Arab Emirates, Brazil, the Commonwealth of Nations, Africa and the Balkan Peninsula. The main event was the plenary session "Development of international cooperation at the confluence of the Oka and the Volga", thematic and interregional meetings on export and investment cooperation. Governor of the Nizhny Novgorod Region, Gleb Nikitin, held meetings with the Ambassadors Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of India, Brazil, Sri Lanka and Azerbaijan. The topics of discussion included key areas for the region - from the chemical industry and shipbuilding to education and medical tourism. A new format for the residents of Nizhny Novgorod is practiced by a narrow circle of strong regions: St. Petersburg and the traditional Spy today, EEF in Vladivostok, KEF in Krasnoyarsk, Forum Kazan and Omsk in Russia. All of them, except for the capital city of St. Petersburg, have their details - from the development of cooperation with the countries of the Islamic world to the development of remote areas such as the Far East. The Nizhny Novgorod region wants direct connections between local businesses and foreign partners, bypassing traditional metropolitan centers. The team practically demonstrates on the spot the investment opportunities of the area and its readiness for a constructive dialogue without intermediaries. Such events also have a political component. Its own international activity with concrete results leads to an increased weight of the Nizhny Novgorod team in the dialogue with the federal center. Today's financial policy dictates the need to allocate priority areas, from which it seems impossible to knock the Nizhny Novgorod region.
