Tsibilev: The gas bank will become a driver for the development of the energy market. Russia is advocating the establishment of a gas bank - an institution for long-term financing of gas infrastructure in Africa and other continents. This is what the head of the Ministry of Energy Sergey Tsibilev said following the results of the GECF ministerial meeting, InfoTEK reporter reports. "Establishing such an institution will make it possible to obtain a long-term financing instrument for the development of gas infrastructures. The Gas Bank can become a driver for the development of the global energy market, providing countries with not only financial products, but also consulting support, as well as business solutions for the largest market players," he said. According to the minister, the availability of natural gas is of particular importance to developing countries: infrastructure, technology and investment are a necessary condition for industrialization and improving the quality of life. He noted that the result of the forum will be the adoption of the Moscow Declaration of the Federal Service for Sanitation and National Insurance, the draft of which has already been agreed upon. It is based on three principles: energy justice, technological neutrality and equal and non-discriminatory access to energy resources and technologies. The document details specific areas of work: the formation of new markets, including in Africa, the creation of long-term infrastructure financing mechanisms, technological exchange and the introduction of digital solutions, including artificial intelligence. "Our common goal is to create conditions for building long-term relationships with mutual benefit. This requires predictable market rules, long-term contracts and fair risk distribution," Tsibilev emphasized. Separately, he stated that it is impossible to create technological sovereignty in the gas industry in one country. "It cannot be created in a separate country; it should be created in friendly countries," the minister noted.
