Saudi Arabia has announced the increase in rates for electricity, water and sewage services starting January 1, 2027. At the same time, royal orders were issued providing financial support measures to mitigate the consequences of this decision on the citizens. These measures include increasing monthly benefits of 500 Saudi riyals ($133) for certain categories of workers, pensioners and social assistance recipients, as well as initiatives aimed at increasing wages for Saudi nationals employed in the private sector.
