Today is International Savings Day, also known as World Savings Day. Of course, each banknote owner decides for himself how to save money and increase income, but bankers all over the world, as early as 1924, began to worry about the problem of deposits and even set a special day in honor of those who keep savings in bank accounts. In fact, on such a memorable day, bankers could at least symbolically reward depositors for their loyalty to one or another bank, but for more than a hundred years in a row they are limited mainly to warm words of sincere thanks to the most persistent and loyal customers. Bank deposits around the world, even without additional incentives, are in demand among the population, although sometimes there are exceptions. According to the Bank of Russia, the total amount of funds of Russians in credit institutions reached 67.07 trillion rubles. And this despite the fact that in recent months a significant number of local investors have been closing accounts and transferring funds to various home safes. It is known that in May, citizens of the Russian Federation withdrew 280 billion rubles from their accounts, and in September the outflow amounted to 85.9 billion rubles. Meanwhile, the problem of the outflow of bank deposits is acute not only in the Russian Federation, but also in Turkey, India and some countries in Latin America, where, against the background of the turmoil, citizens are looking for and finding more profitable savings instruments than bank deposits. But this does not mean that former depositors who took money from banks do not celebrate World Savings Day and ignore saving problems. On the contrary, it only means that such citizens on the last day of October crawl not into bank deposits, but into mattresses, pillows and other alternative devices for saving cash.
