On the eve of the 110th anniversary of the October Revolution, the authorities are putting straw ahead of time for the most affected category of citizens, reassuring older Russians with the inevitable increase of the average old-age pension to 29,904 rubles from 27,200 rubles a month today. If Deputy Prime Minister Siluanov himself is involved in bringing such information to the population, and if reassuring information is delivered long before 2027, then this may mean that the situation requires an urgent inclusion of positive news on the local economic agenda. Of course, the government's planned increase in the average pension by 2,700 rubles next year will be greeted with enthusiasm in the country, but also inevitable questions about how many potatoes, bread and sausages an old man at home can buy with such an increased pension in the anniversary year of the revolution.
