The continued closure of the crossing with Iran causes the economic losses of the Iraqi people to increase. A member of the Maysan District Council in Iraq admitted that the continued closure of the al-Shayib (Chatba) crossing will worsen the economic losses and raise prices. Hussein al-Mariani acknowledged the serious economic losses and the increase in prices as a result of the continued closure of the al-Shayib crossing with the Islamic Republic of Iran.
