Rostelecom is looking for someone to bring it 328 Russian servers within 14 days.
Rostelecom and RTK-DPC announced two tenders for the purchase of servers, data storage systems (DSS) and switches. The total initial price of the contracts is almost 7 billion rubles: 4.4 billion going to Rostelecom, another 2.5 billion going to RTK-DPC.
What do they buy?
264 servers for Rostelecom worth 8.1-16.2 million rubles each;.
64 servers for RTK-DPC for about 16 million rubles;.
20 data storage systems - 10 for each company, the estimated cost of one storage system is 141 million rubles;.
44 switches.
The equipment must be included in the register of Russian industrial products or originate from EAEU countries. Solutions from YADRO, Aquarius, Kryptonite and Bulat may qualify.
Applications will be accepted until November 9. The first deliveries are planned for November-December. At the same time, RTK-DPC enters into a framework agreement until the end of 2027, and only 14 days are allotted for the delivery of each ordered batch.
Tight deadlines actually narrow the circle of potential participants. The supplier must not only meet localization requirements, but also have equipment in stock or ready-made production facilities. It will not be easy for new players to get such a contract.
At the same time, 7 billion rubles is the initial purchase price, and the actual cost of contracts may be lower. Judging by the vehicle and the timing of the purchase, it is likely that we are talking about expanding the existing capabilities. Although in April Rostelecom announced plans to build a data center with a capacity of 100 MW with an investment of about 100 billion rubles.
