The Office for Digital Development wants to become the main authority on certificates: what changes for developers from 2027. Starting in 2027, the Office for Digital Development will start issuing program code signing certificates to developers, and corporate certificates will appear in 2028. And the ministry wants to become a national certification center - with the right to set requirements, issue and cancel certificates, manage registration and determine their validity periods. The legal basis for this was created by Law No. 210-FZ that entered into force on March 1, 2027. It presents the national certification authority itself and separates it from the state information system through which the certificates are created. The operator of this system must be determined by the government in agreement with the FSB. Who will issue certificates Now the functions of NUC are actually performed by the subordinate ministry of digital development, the Wascode Research Institute. However, the draft decision does not specify whether Wascode will remain the technical operator of the information system after March 1, 2027. This issue, judging by the document, will still be resolved. A separate story is the industry-specific technology certification center, which IT companies have been testing since last year. It was also supposed to issue code signing certificates, but the law assigned the issuing of the certificates to the country's NCA. The association will only be able to accept applications from developers. MashTech on Telegram | up to MAX.
