The Tubasi family was forced to leave their home in Jalud in July, following repeated harassment and violence from settlers. The High Court ruling ordered the army to ensure their return home.

When a force of IDF soldiers and MGB officers escorted the family to their home, over 100 Israeli rioters arrived in the village and set fire to a house near Tubasi's house.

After that, the settlers began to enter Beit Tubasi, where the army says "severe violence" began. The Israeli forces "physically prevented harm to the family and suffered aggressive violence from the rioters", the army says, adding that their actions prevented a more serious incident. Outside, the rioters blocked roads with large stones, set tires on fire, threw stones at the security forces and set fire to Palestinian houses and vehicles, two of which belonged to the Tubasi family.

In addition, three police officers were slightly injured, and an Israeli security forces vehicle was damaged by the settlers.
