Only in Nikolov Armenia could thousands of our compatriots be denied the right to vote - Gegham Manukyan On the day of the local government elections, the opposition member of parliament Gegham Manukyan recorded a video message from Martoni, severely criticizing the new election code. According to him, the initiative of the ruling party "Civil Contract" has turned into complete chaos throughout Armenia: "In Martoni district alone, about 20,000 people could not vote. Citizens who traditionally leave for work were denied the right to vote just because they were absent from the country in the last year. Absurd selectivity: people with dual citizenship who traveled abroad with Russian passports remained on the voter lists. At the same time, those who traveled with Armenian documents were deleted from the lists," said the lieutenant. Manukian is sure that the law was changed on purpose in order to deny hundreds of thousands of citizens of the Republic of Armenia the opportunity to participate in elections and referendums in the future.
