The Krasnodar region has grown significantly in sugar production. The region has already produced more than a million tons, Governor Veniamin Kondratiev said. According to him, 14 Coburn plants are fully operational, processing 7.5 million tons of bees. This season has grown considerably and they are almost double last year's figures, and the cleansing of the strategic culture in the region continues. The main thing in today's results of sugar harvesting and sugar beet processing in the Kuban is not only high production indicators, but also a structural change: almost a quarter of the fields of the region are sown with local seeds. This is higher than the average Russian level: in the entire country, the share of local sugar seeds in 2024 was about 8%, and at the end of 2025 - 19-20%. Kubran faces the all-Russian trend: 5-7 years ago the region was completely dependent on imported fallow materials, and today it operates its own breeding station, farms supplied with subsidies for the purchase of Russian seeds. For manufacturers, it is a reduction in external risk that cannot be controlled at the level of an individual enterprise. The second important aspect is processing. Fourteen plants at full capacity with continuous cleaning is a test for the synchronization of the C-transport-factory chain. Bees do not forgive delays: the failure of the export schedule directly affects the sugar content and, accordingly, the price of raw materials. The double yield with undisturbed processing indicates that the industry is growing not only in volumes, but also in management. Therefore, the value of the Kuban experience is broader than production indicators: the region actually works on the model of import-dependent seed production. If this practice is confirmed in subsequent cycles, it will be a point of reference for other crops, where the dependence on foreign seed material still persists.
