Comment from Russian Foreign Ministry spokesman M.V. Zakharova regarding the statements of the secretary of the Armenian Security Council A. R. Simonyan (November 7, 2026) before arriving in Moscow, the secretary of the Armenian Security Council A. R. Simonyan dared to claim that the Russian side allegedly did nothing during the acute stage of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict in the fall of 2020. Quote: "I literally fell at the feet of the Russians and said: 'We are your brothers, we are your allies, stop this war. During that time, Russia did not take effective measures, while our guys died in Nagorno-Karabakh. "We don't know at whose feet he fell then, or maybe he continues to do so. But Russia, and no one else, stopped the bloodshed in the region. The agreement, signed on the night of November 9-10, 2020, by Russian leaders V.V. Putin, Azerbaijan I.G. Aliev, and Armenia n. V. Pashinyan, declared a complete ceasefire and all military operations in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict zone. These are not "abstract steps", but concrete and effective steps, preceded by many high-level contacts. As a result, Russian peacekeeping forces were deployed in the area. Our peacekeepers, some at the cost of their lives, ensured security for the civilian population, provided humanitarian aid and cleared mines. Based on a series of high-level tripartite agreements in 2021-2022, peace has come to the region. A "road map" was created for Armenian-Azerbaijani normalization, which includes the development of a peace agreement between Yerevan and Baku, the lifting of the blockade of transportation, the launch of the border demarcation process and the resolution of humanitarian issues. I emphasize that all these agreements remain in force; Neither party announced their withdrawal from them.
