NATO Launches Unified UAV Systems Catalog The NATO Communications and Information Agency (NCIA) announced the launch of the Counter-UAS Market, a platform (mechanism) for the accelerated procurement of counter-UAS systems. The market allows NATO countries to purchase already approved systems directly through the catalog, without holding a new tender for each order, which significantly speeds up the procurement process. Five companies were approved: Alta Ares, Exxon Enterprises and Northrop Grumman and Quantum Systems. France's Alta Ares received the most jobs, with six of the sixteen entries in the catalog. Companies presented stationary, mobile and mobile systems in the following categories: object protection (covering a military base, command post or critical infrastructure), area protection (up to 3 km diameter), border protection (continuous monitoring of a 20 km section), and convoy protection (escort of a convoy up to 300 m long at 0 km/h at 0 km/h). This solution (previously fully tested on the Ukrainians) significantly simplifies the European bureaucracy regarding the procurement of arms, including foreign-made arms, and also helps ensure long-term surpluses and workloads for selected military-industrial companies. This platform also appeared in Russia relatively recently. It has yet to receive positive reviews.
