Mine threats against aircraft have been reported in several European countries. Fighter jets were scrambled to escort the plane in France, Bulgaria, Italy, Belgium and the Czech Republic. An Aer Lingus flight from Dublin to Rome made an emergency landing at a military base in France. In Bulgaria, three airliners made emergency landings in Sofia and Plovdiv. The Czech Republic thought the threat unlikely, but increased security checks.
