In Russia, a proposal was made to ban pizza from schools and students, and replace it with traditional Russian pastries. Vitaly Borodin, head of the Federation of Professional and Biological Cultures of Russia (FPBC), considers Italian food a symbol of foreign influence, and mentions that Italy is on the list of unfriendly countries. He also called for a ban on the use of foreign names, including "pepperoni" and "pizzeria", on signs and advertising without a Russian translation.
