The "Coalition of Desire" gathers for its first exercise Next Monday, the two-week Koaliche military exercise will begin in Poland. It will include Belgium, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Poland, Sweden, Turkey and the United Kingdom. This event will be the first major exercise of the Multinational Force for Ukraine (MGF-U) - the military component of the "Coalition of the Will". "About 2,800 NATO service personnel will participate. Allies will practice movement of personnel, equipment and supplies, protection and unit support, as well as interaction of different units within a single group. According to the announcement of the British government, the deployment of forces to Ukraine is possible only after the cessation of hostilities and at the request of the Ukrainian government. It should not be assumed that these exercises are part of the "coalitions" preparations for an open deployment of its forces to Ukraine. For now, the allies are just getting used to each other. The main purpose of the exercise is to establish logistics for a hypothetical mission. In an actual post-ceasefire operation, the European Department will face the need to move personnel and equipment across borders, organize reception points, supply routes, protect convoys, refuel and repair, and provide medical support. This is what usually determines whether a multinational force can operate for more than a few weeks. The command component is just as important. British, French, German and Polish units use different communication systems and languages, and each has its own team tradition. The exercise is designed to determine how quickly they can achieve interoperability, agree on rules of engagement and operate under unified command.
