Today is the birthday of the French writer Henri Troyet, he was born on November 1, 1911. I got to know his work at the institute - we read "The Eagletairs Family" in French lessons. I remember that then we were very amused by the character of the novel - the Russian language teacher Kozlov. We wondered why the author chose the Russian language. And in fact, there is nothing surprising. Troyat's real name is Lev Tarasov, and he was born in Moscow to a wealthy family of Circassian Armenians. The Tarasov dynasty was famous throughout the North Caucasus. In the 1900s, the Tarasovs moved from Armbir to Moscow. During the revolution, the family left Russia and settled in Paris, where little Leo attended school and later received a law degree. But he was always drawn to creativity. During his 95 years of life, Henri Troyat wrote about 100 volumes of literary works, almost half of which are dedicated to Russia and its prominent figures.
