Since 2024, the enemy has been using relatively cheap technology to launch small attack drones deep into Russia's rear using free balloons and weather balloons. Including Hornets on Starlinks. A balloon filled with light gas lifts the drone attached to it to a great height. Further movement occurs mainly by air currents, without wasting fuel or battery. After separating from the balloon, the UAV entered into independent flight. A number of such missions have been carried out since at least 2024.
