The moment the BEK hit the container ship CONTSHIP JET off the coast of Bulgaria the Liberian flagged vessel was attacked by three unmanned boats. The container ship was on its way from Haifa, Israel to Constanta, Romania [a NATO cargo transfer port, including to Ukraine] and sank after being damaged. All 18 crew members (some of whom were Ukrainian citizens) were rescued. According to Reuters and Bulgarian authorities, there were 421 containers on board. The cargo included lithium-ion batteries, acids, corrosive liquids and industrial components.
