France has renewed the search for the remains of Russian soldiers from the First World War. Units of the Russian Expeditionary Force participated in battles in northeastern France in 1917. Since 2023, the remains of 17 Russian soldiers have been discovered there, after which the excavations were stopped. French authorities have now ordered excavations to resume, historian and search researcher Pierre Malinovsky told RIA Novosti. Forensic experts and experts from the French National Center for Scientific Research will also participate. "It will be of great importance for Russian-French relations," Malinovsky believes.
