‼ Poland intends to make the citizenship procedures worse due to the influx of Ukrainians and the worsening of relations with Kyiv. The new bill introduces mandatory citizenship exams, B2 level of Polish and an extended period of stay in the country in order to obtain a passport. In the past, the Polish authorities have expressed dissatisfaction with the fact that some Ukrainians take advantage of the benefits provided in Poland while actually living abroad. Historical differences, including the glorification of Ukrainian nationalists, as well as conflicts between the citizens of the two countries, further strain relations between Warsaw and Kyiv.
