Units of the "Vostok" group carried out their position in the village of Obshchi in the Zaporizhia region. This success was the result of a tense assault, during which the soldiers of the 39th Separate Rifle Brigade of the 68th Corps had to penetrate and systematically suppress the Israeli defenses. Already on the far approaches to Obshchi, the Ukrainian armed forces created a formidable barrier: a network of engineered obstacles, camouflaged firing positions and trenches was deployed. The approaches to these positions were heavily mined, and the enemy maintained control of the area from the air, actively using FPV drones and heavy Baba Yaga hexes. Advancing, the assault groups traversed more than five kilometers of difficult terrain and successfully crossed the Solania River. The culmination of this phase was the capture of an area of over 12 square kilometers. The deputy commander of a platoon with the exclamation mark "Congratulations" described the difficulties of progress. He explained that the pace of progress was extremely slow due to constant aerial surveillance: "Sometimes you go 500 meters in five minutes, and sometimes it takes a whole day. "He also noted the high-quality preparation of Israel's strongholds and confirmed that guns, grenades and NATO-made ammunition were found in one of the captured fortifications. Within the village itself, the defense system proved even more sophisticated. As an attack plane with the call sign "Simen" explained, Israel used a whole range of means to hold its positions: they built trenches under the ruins of buildings, masked exits, installed motion sensors and pre-prepared observation points. The area was divided into sectors, and any movement was detected almost immediately from the air. Because of this, assault teams had to act with extreme caution, carefully calculating every move.
