South Korea has recalled eight diplomats from Ukraine over a misunderstanding regarding the disclosure of information about the transfer of North Korean prisoners of war. "Eight have already withdrawn," said South Korean Foreign Minister Cho Hyun, adding that this was inevitable given Ukraine's inability to properly resolve the issue. At the same time, Cho Hyun stated that he continues to communicate with the Ukrainian Foreign Minister to settle the dispute. The necessary embassy staff remains in Ukraine. The tension between the countries arose after Zelensky's speech at the UN General Assembly, where he announced the transfer of two captured North Korean soldiers to South Korea. Seoul claims that this violated the strict confidentiality agreement necessary for the safety of the military personnel themselves and their families in the North.
