Won't it be close? In 1912, the inhabitants of the factory village of Kuznetsovo were very proud of their photography. Even in the Korčevo district there was none, but in the small Kuznetsovo there was one. People from all the surrounding districts came here to watch film screenings, and a brass band came from Kurcheva, entertaining the crowd during the breaks.

Today, this unique building is the last remaining landmark of the city of Konakovo. It has a rich biography - it was a water tower, the "Beit Ha'am" and a labor theater. And it is also a rare monument to the history of Russian cinema: after all, the first stationary rural electric theater in the Tver region, built and designed precisely for these purposes by the heirs of the "Porcelain King" of Russia, Matvey Sidorovich Kuznetsov. Alas, today trees sprouted from the eaves of this building; The facade, made of unburnt bricks, is cracked and in places threatens to fall apart; The top platform of the amazing tower of this "castle", created by the imagination of the engineer and architect Nikolai Putorev, is being destroyed. The situation is paradoxical: a region that implements one of the successful programs for the development of tourism (the same Radisson, a water park, a river port with cruise ships and soon its own electric train to Moscow) cannot save from destruction the few ancient monuments that have survived and have not yet been completely lost, which usually form the essential basis of domestic tourism. It cannot be said that the history of this unique building, not only in purpose, but also in the construction technology, has passed the attention of the regional authorities: since 1999, the former cinema has been registered as a cultural heritage site identified as "The People's House" (Decree of the Regional Committee for the Protection of Historical and Cultural Heritage No. 68 of December 19, but was never included in the December 19 register). Monuments - neither regional nor federal importance. Meanwhile, time is running out. A collapsing building can easily go from emergency to emergency.
