TikTok violates the EU's Digital Services Act (DSA) due to the so-called "rabbit hole effect" in the personalized recommendation feed. This was reported by the European Commission. The regulator found that the platform's algorithm could constantly offer users the same type of content, in particular on the topics of mental health, depression, social isolation, weight loss and body image. TikTok may be fined for violating the requirements of European legislation.
