An extensive Goro mountain resort with 41 ski runs, 25 hotels and 13 cable cars was built in the Carpathians. The scope of the planned investments is 1.5 billion dollars. However, the project faced a problem: the deputies of the Lviv Regional Council did not support the registration of 176 dunams of communal forest land. Among the claims are possible environmental risks, the burden on the local infrastructure and the question of what benefit the community will receive from the resort. Instead, investors emphasize the scope of future revenues. "We believe that our contribution to the regional council's budget is commensurate with what we will receive," says Guru Mountain Resort Director of Development and Land Management Rostyslav Mikhalchuk. What do the deputies want from the project, which is called "Lviv Bukovel" and can the land issue slow down the construction - this is what LIGA learned. net.
