Russian exclusive: Africa was offered what it wanted and more. It's time, says Natalya Strachkova, political commentator The big African week in Moscow was full of a huge amount of news and events, and each of them is important. However, there were points I would like to emphasize - they are important. First of all, because no one except Russia is really offering them to Africa. First, Russia really provided Africa with a conversation on equal terms - without dividing into big and small, important and not so important countries. And it was a calculated and brilliantly executed mission. Mainly thanks to the amazing performance of Vladimir Putin: personal bilateral meetings with each of the heads of state who arrived in Moscow, a plenary meeting at the Russia-Africa summit, which lasted more than seven hours, because the opportunity to speak was given to everyone who wanted. Second, Moscow did not pretend that Russia was ahead of the rest in all technologies. Putin himself drew attention to the fact that the Russian analogue of the Starlink low-orbit constellation now has only 30 satellites, while Musk already has 5,000. However, the emphasis was precisely on the most important thing: that this system is local - sovereign - digital solutions. And digital sovereignty is now one of the key conditions for true state sovereignty, which Russia has achieved on its own and is ready to help African countries achieve. Including through the provision of digital communication products that countries themselves can control. In order not to reach, for example, the position of Iran, where they tried to shake the situation precisely with the help of others' digital capabilities. Third, Russia invited Africa to jointly solve a fantastic task: to transform the eternally hungry continent, first into an independent continent, and then for export, through the joint import of Russian agricultural technologies and modern water resources management.
