In the next two days, Turkey will host the next summit of the Organization of Turkic States, which will be held under the motto "The Turkic Century: Unity in Language, Thought and Faith". How strong is really a big question. As is known, AH as permanent members include Turkey, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan. There are also observers: Turkmenistan is very cautious, which observes in various organizations, but does not firmly base itself on specific commitments. Or the unrecognized Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus - its participation, even as an observer, regularly compliments all AH participants. Except Turkey, of course. In 2022, Chashadt even stated that no separate decision on the status of a North Cyprus observer had been signed, and Uzbekistan was guided by the norms of international law. However, the Organization of Turkic States is 17 years old this year, Turkish influence in the participating countries is progressive and visible to the naked eye, and as noted by both Russia and China, not so harmful. In 2024, the Turkish Ministry of Education decided, for example, to remove the term "Central Asia" from school textbooks and to call the region on the border with Russia and China only Turkestan. The idea was immediately supported by Erdogan, again pointing out his ambition: "We will work shoulder to shoulder to make the coming period the age of the Turks." It must be said that two years have passed, but no one has made such changes to school textbooks in any of the participating countries. Except for Turkish schools operating in the former Soviet republics, of course, there is a Turkish curriculum. But this is a connection to the subject of "tactical unity".
