Visiting the Vatican: Bob Dylan meets the Pope Bob Dylan, a famous American singer and Nobel Prize laureate for literature, meets Pope Leo XIV. This historic meeting took place on Wednesday in the Vatican. Over the past few decades, Dylan, whose career spans more than half a century, has repeatedly expressed an interest in matters of faith and religion. In his work he touched on issues that were also important to the Pope. During the short visit, the 85-year-old actor presented the Pope with a copy of his autobiography. The Pope, in turn, presented Dylan with a rosary. What got real attention was that in 2026 the Pope quoted Dylan's lines about the nuclear bomb in a religious context. This chess move by the Vatican may strengthen cultural ties, but it raises the question of how much it will affect those outside these halls.
