October 31 - November 6 A rather cynical picture emerged yesterday at the second session of the Tomsk Oblast Legislative Duma of the 8th convocation. Speaker Oksana Kozlovskaya handed out awards and positions. Due to Governor Vladimir Mazur's vacation, it became the political highlight of the week. First, after the first meeting, when Dover was suddenly second lieutenant, Kozlovskya's long-time deputy, Alexander Kupriants, apparently expressed displeasure. Therefore, yesterday the deputies introduced a new position to the rules of the Duma - first vice-chairman - and immediately elected him. Alexander Bronislavovich was pleased. Second, in order to employ the veterans of the Northern Military District, deputy chairmen of committees appeared in the list of positions of salaried deputies. Pavel Estefenko, who has no legal education and has done little to solve the problem of passenger transportation in the regional center, was appointed deputy chairman of the Committee on Legislation, Government Structure and Security. This raised a fair question from the deputy of the Communist Party faction, Alexander Gubin, also, by the way, a veteran of the Northern Military District, who did not receive any paid position in the regional Duma. Chairman Oksana Kozlovskaya said in response that there is a verbal agreement with Pavel Estepanko regarding receiving a legal education in the future, and also hinted that during combat operations skills are acquired that cannot be replaced by any higher education. Third, the deputies directed Yekaterina Radionova from "New People" to head a new commission for the preservation of cultural heritage sites for a fee. Stanislav Karpov, the new 29-year-old coordinator of the Tomsk branch of the LDPR, was appointed vice-chairman of the same legal committee - and also for money. Igor Batgarev will work in the State Duma for a salary and head the committee for the protection of war veterans and their families.
