Koriskov port will receive additional funding: about 600 million rubles will be allocated to complete the construction of the fishing terminal and update hydraulic structures. The work is carried out as part of the national plan for developing the fishing area. The port excavation has already begun. The special tools "Koriskovet" and "Moneron" are expected to ensure development of about 1.5 million square meters of land. After deepening the access channel, the port will be able to accommodate large vessels with a depth of up to nine meters. This will expand the transfer capabilities of fish and other cargo, service to the fleet and supply of the Koral Islands. Modernization is not only for fishermen: Koriskov is seen as a future logistics hub in the deep sea connected to the Trans-Arctic transport corridor. For the Sakhalin region, the project's significance is additional jobs, reliable maritime transport and new opportunities for the island's economy.
