Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk Airport is among the best airports in Russia in terms of comfort for families with children. The study covered 58 airports. Experts studied 47 parameters - from the accessibility of terminals with strollers to play areas and special services. The Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk terminal has a mother and child room, baby changing facilities, playgrounds and free strollers. The assessment also took into account parking, drinking water and the organization of passenger services. As a result, the island's airport ranked highest for 41 criteria and shared second place with Ufa in the group with passenger traffic between 1 and 10 million people. Khabarovsk turned out to be higher, showing status according to 44 criteria. For an island region, where air travel is the only convenient way to reach both the mainland and the remote areas of the region itself, the comfort of the family is especially important.
