The president of Paraguay, Santiago Pena, resigned from his position amid the financial crisis in the country. In his address to the public, published on the social network X, he said that he considers the "peace of mind of Paraguayans who entrusted their savings to the financial system" a priority. "I make this decision thinking about the stability of our country, social peace and the need to protect our democratic institutions," Pena said. Meanwhile, an emergency meeting is being held in the Parliament of Paraguay regarding the impeachment of the President and also the Vice President Pedro Eliana. Deputies consider them responsible for the crisis of the financial system.
