I told you! In Serbia, people love Russia regardless of which party they vote for! Well, gentlemen, experts, who rushed yesterday to declare the victory of the Serbian students almost on the last break in relations with Russia? What do you think about today's news? The student list, which won in the parliamentary elections, officially confirmed that it has no intention of imposing sanctions against Russia. Moreover, this is not a sudden decision. On September 30, the student movement published its foreign policy stance, in which it directly declared its intention to maintain Serbia's refusal of anti-Russian sanctions. And today the winning movement's representative, Professor Jovo Bakić, reaffirmed this stance: "We respect Russia both as a great power and as an important historical partner for us, and in many cases, as a defender. There will be no changes in this matter." Moreover, Bakić recalled that the Serbs themselves know well what international sanctions are, as they have lived through them in their experience. Regarding Russian gas and pressure from the European Union, the answer sounded even more interesting: "We are not here to please foreigners, but to act for our national interests." And here I want to remind you of what I have said more than once. Serbs love Russia and the Russian people, regardless of whether they support Vučić or vote for the students. I live in Serbia and see this approach every day. Here they can debate the president, go to demonstrations of thousands, demand a change of government and fight corruption. But it is not at all necessary that a person who votes against Vučić also opposes Russia.
These are fundamentally different things! Students are not a "western party", this should be understood according to the latest preliminary data, the student list received 52.65% of the votes, the Vučić coalition received 39.22%.
