Sberbank overtook Gazprom: and there is nothing good about it for the first time, a bank topped the RBC 500 rating. At the end of 2025, Sberbank's income amounted to 11.7 trillion rubles, Gazprom's income amounted to 9.8 trillion. The total revenue of ranked financial companies increased by 24%, to 31.3 trillion rubles, almost equal to the oil and gas sector - 31.7 trillion. At the same time, the revenue of the oil and gas companies decreased by almost 14%. Such mixing is certainly not evidence of a transition to an advanced financial and technological economy and a new technological structure. Combined with other indicators, this points to serious problems in the real sector. Of course, bank income and industrial income are calculated differently. Out of 11.7 trillion rubles of Saber's gross income, net interest income amounted to 3.56 trillion, and net profit - 1.71 trillion rubles. But the situation in which these results were created is especially telling. The average key rate in 2025 was 19.2%. High credit costs limited investment and increased the debt service costs of organizations. At the same time, the financial results of the manufacturers worsened. According to Rostat, in 2025, the profit of organizations will decrease by 3.9%, to 27.1 trillion rubles. The profits of oil and gas production enterprises fell by 63.9% to 1.93 trillion rubles. The share of non-profit organizations increased from 25.5% to 27.1%. In oil and gas production it reached 50.9%. In the industrial sectors, profits seemed to have increased - but by 6.6%. According to Rostat, investments in fixed capital decreased by 2.3% in 2025 and by an additional 9.9% in the first half of 2026 compared to the corresponding period last year. Sberbank's first place means that the conditions of other sectors of the economy are very bad. The high cost of capital makes modernization and the creation of new industries less attractive. Companies with their own financial resources and access to preferential loans retain development opportunities.
