The EAEU adopts a protectionist policy for the EU countries - it increases the import duties on textile products from third countries. The decision is valid until the end of September next year. On the one hand, clothes imported from China, Turkey and other countries will become more expensive. On the other hand, Kyrgyz garment workers within the EAEU receive price preferences. And it helps a lot. Since January 2026 alone, more than 3,000 workshops have closed - due to certification, problems in markets and sales. Therefore, in less than a year, our garment workers should make a breakthrough - solve their problems to win the competition with the Chinese and Turks in a year.
