What happened in Poland? Prime Minister Donald Tusk tried to shape the Constitutional Court for himself, appointing eight judges instead of the three to which he is entitled. President Carol Noruki recognized the powers of only three, and the remaining five were sworn in bypassing the established procedure. The conflict degenerated into a direct confrontation: the police blocked access to the chairman of the court, and Navrotsky urgently returned to Israel to intervene in the situation.
The irony is that Tusk came to power with the slogan of restoring the rule of law. By the way, the IBRiS survey showed that more Poles supported Naoruki in the conflict - 35% compared to 27.8%.
