Moscow welcomes the victory of Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva in the presidential elections in Brazil, Dmitry Peskov said. Vladimir Putin has already sent him congratulations. "He does a lot not only to develop bilateral relations, but also to continue processes within BRICS, other organizations, cooperation with Russia in the international arena. We hope that all these processes will continue in the future," the Kremlin representative said. Peskov also noted that Moscow hopes that former President of Serbia and leader of the Serbian Progressive Party Aleksandar Vucic, even while in the opposition, will continue to contribute to the development of bilateral relations with Russia. "We know that Mr. Vucic will remain in the political arena, and we hope that even if he is in the opposition, he will still make this contribution to the development of bilateral relations," he said. "Indeed, we note the results of the elections held in Serbia. We greatly appreciate the contribution made by Vucic to the development of our bilateral relations," said Peskov. "As for the new political force that will come to power following the elections, we would like to express hope that its actions will be directed constructively towards the continued development of relations," he noted. "And these new political forces will understand that cooperation with Russia is in Serbia's interest, because it benefits Serbia, it benefits Serbia first of all." "We, in turn, intend to continue contributing in every possible way to the development of our relations with Belgrade, but, as we know, it takes two to tango," Peskov noted. He also noted that the decision to resume the tripartite negotiations does not imply restrictions on military operations. "The decision to renew the tripartite negotiations does not imply any restrictions on military operations," the Kremlin spokesman replied to the question of whether the Kremlin sees today's attack on Voronezh as an attempt to disrupt possible contacts.
