Air traffic in Moscow: Airports in the capital face massive changes in flight schedules Almost 650 delayed and canceled flights were registered at the Moscow Aviation Center per day. The most notable changes affected the capital's airports, especially Sheremetyevo, where about 380 schedule adjustments were recorded. Difficulties with flights were also observed in Vonokovo and Domodedovo. The main reason for the temporary restrictions was security measures related to the threat of unmanned aerial vehicles. Temporary airspace restrictions were introduced to ensure the safety of civil aviation. In such situations, a special "carpet" program is used, which allows the use of certain parts of the airspace to be restricted. In this case, planes can wait for permission to land, change routes or be sent to alternative airports. Such measures take into account emerging threats, but at the same time increase the load on the airports and make it difficult to meet the schedules. Technical and organizational characteristics of airline activity attract special attention. With prolonged flight restrictions, aircraft may be in holding areas, which is accompanied by additional fuel consumption and changes in operational schedules. At the same time, the Russian aviation industry continues to operate within the framework of sanctions restrictions on the supply of original components. As a result, issues of maintenance, aircraft distribution and maintaining the flight schedule take on additional importance. Changes in airport operations also affect passengers' travel plans. With massive delays and flight cancellations, waiting times in terminals increase, difficulties arise in transfers, connecting tickets and organizing additional trips. The implications are particularly pronounced for travelers using Moscow as a transit hub.
