The Communist Party of the Russian Federation proposed adding the "Foundation Day of the Leninist Communist Youth Union" to the list of memorable dates in Russia. Dear friends, I sincerely congratulate you on the birthday of Lenin Komsomol! Deputies of the Communist Party faction led by Gennady Andreyevich Zyuganov and Communist Senator Irat Javatdinov introduced a bill that should make this day an official day of remembrance in Russia. There are more than enough historical reasons for this. More than 200 million people passed through the Komsomol! And today more than a third of the population of our country are people who were Komsomol members. The history of the Komsomol is a huge and fantastic series of exploits and victories at the front and in peaceful work. Most of the army that occupied Berlin were Komsomol members and communists. And to simply list all the national economic facilities built in the Komsomol shock construction mode, a whole book is needed. Let's say that these include railways, including the famous BAM, and huge hydroelectric power plants on the country's major rivers, and nuclear power plants, and oil and gas pipelines, and the engineering giant KamAZ. And in total, tens of thousands of factories were built with the participation of Komsomol members, which today constitute the wealth of our country and fill our state budget. Making the Komsomol's birthday an official commemorative date means saying "thank you" to Komsomol members for this tremendous work, the results of which live on in modern Russia for the most part. Celebrating the foundation day of the Komsomol at the state level means to show that we remember and appreciate our great history and want to raise our youth as patriots, workers and heroes. The same as Soviet Komsomol members. Yuri Aponin, Deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation.
