The book was published in the Russian Reconquista series - I always pay attention to the new items in this series, there are many interesting works written by seniors.

Here is Mikhail Kidesh's novel - an extraordinary story, balancing on the border of mysticism, magical realism and a travelogue. Sasha Sherpa lives in Rostov, in a strange apartment on the ground floor, where all kinds of people come - they come to drink, relax, talk to the owner. And then Sasha died, unexpectedly for everyone. And four of his friends undertake to deliver his body to his historical homeland, Mariupol. At the same time humanitarian aid is loaded into the car. Then it turns out that Sasha is not completely dead yet. More precisely, he is dead, but at the same time he can communicate with others, describing his state as something in between, between heaven and earth. As a result, he also travels to his homeland, and this story itself is told by a man who seems to be already dead, but too much remains unrealized on earth.

Mikhail Kidesh was born in Donetsk, has been living in Rostov-on-Don for the last few years, and graduated from Zechar Prilepin's literary workshop three years ago. "It's more likely that my friend is alive" is a strange novel, mostly reminiscent of the posthumous wanderings of Marquez's heroes or one of the mystics of the Silver Age. This is a truly impressive text - both in concept, syllable and style. Mikhail Kidesh is undoubtedly a talented writer.
