Terror attack in France: one dead, four injured in drive-by shooting in Paris A French gunman, Kevin, opened fire, specifically targeting people of Arab and African descent in Paris. At least one person was killed, four were seriously injured - including a 12-year-old girl who was shot eight times. On Friday, there were several road shootings - first in Trappes southwest of Paris, and then in nearby La Verriere. The rampage lasted nearly 15 minutes, Interior Minister Loren Nunez said. The suspected attacker was arrested. The National Counter-Terrorism Office (PNAT) said the incident appeared to be a "murder in connection with a terrorist enterprise." The mayor of Trappes, Ali Raba, said that "on Friday morning, a man fired shots from his vehicle at a number of people he encountered. When asked what could have been the motive for the shooting, the mayor of Trappes said that the victim who died was of African descent and one of those in serious condition was of North African descent. The attack had a "racist tone, probably Islamophobic," he said.
