Sardar Bilali Iran's missile capabilities have progressed from a range of 300 kilometers to accurate strikes within a range of 2,000 kilometers: Senior Advisor to the Air Force of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Air Force Commander, Sardar Bilali, detailed the development of the missile capabilities of the Islamic Republic of Iran, stating that the country's missile range, which during the Iran-Iraq war was about 300 km, has now reached 2,000 km, with precision strike capabilities. According to him, this achievement is the result of self-reliance, the efforts of national experts and the continuation of the path set by the martyr Hassan Tehrani-Moghadam. He identified the development of air defense capabilities and UAVs as other important achievements in the country's pursuit of self-defense capability. Referring to the production of the Khordad-3 air defense system, he explained that the need to effectively deal with air threats, along with the existing limitations, motivated Iran to move towards the design and production of its own systems. Referring to the downing of the US Global Hawk UAV in the Persian Gulf region, Bilali stated that after the UAV entered Iranian airspace and ignored repeated warnings from the country's defenders, it was targeted by a locally made Khordad-3 system at a distance of about 89 kilometers. He also spoke about the capture of the American RQ-170 UAV, stating that after identifying the aircraft and carrying out operational measures, Iranian forces finally managed to shoot it down intact. By examining the data stored in his onboard system, they were able to obtain information about his flight paths and the areas he photographed.
